Save the Meadows is an all-volunteer, grassroots campaign
to save the natural areas at FDR Park from privatization and development.
We are neighborhood residents and others determined to stop the City of Philadelphia
from destroying the only woodlands, meadows, and wetlands in South Philly
to install 1.3 million square feet of toxic plastic grass and asphalt.

Legal Fund

Time-sensitive and urgent! You’ve likely heard about the lawsuit filed by South Philly residents against the City of Philadelphia and the Fairmount Park Conservancy.

The trial is set for May 2nd and our costs could be as high as $15,000 for this first stage, if not more.  Time is short, and the need is great!

We have committed to providing financial support for the lawsuit and for appealing the permit approved by the Zoning Board. This is one way to draw a direct line between where we are today and how we win! It helps create a true diversity of tactics in our efforts to fight for community-led development.

Meadows Fund

Since our inception in July 2021, Save the Meadows has been entirely powered by volunteers. Some of you have offered financial support in the past. Now, two and a half years in, we would appreciate that help.

Funds are needed to cover our monthly operational expenses, including our website, online tools, printing costs, community outreach and events, etc. Consider making a recurring monthly donation.

Our work is entirely powered by people, and it’s people like you that help this movement become more than just a group of individuals. We appreciate you, and we are stronger together. Thank you.

Also, consider reaching out to us via email or Instagram and asking how else you can help out! Our needs are constantly in flux, but there’s a place for everyone in this campaign!

Solidarity and meadows forever ✊
