MeadowFest: Book Club with Sierra Club

Walk and Talk Book Club: Join us for a monthly Book Club Series in Philadelphia! We will read an environmental / nature-focused book each month, then join together monthly to discuss reflections, socialize, and explore different parks around the city. In August we will read "Braiding Sweetgrass", by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Detailed description below. Participants are invited to read the entire book or a few chapters of their choosing, and join this outing to meet other readers and reflect on some provided prompts. If you have a library card, you can access the first few chapters of the book using the Libby App, under the "Sample" section. All are welcome no matter how much of the book you are able to read.

Registration is required here.

Accessibility info: The walk will cover around a mile, and is on a flat, grassy (and sometimes muddy) exposed trail. There are limited to no places to sit along the trail, but we will move at a slow pace.

Location: Meadows Picnic Grove at FDR, 1954 Pattison Ave
Enter the Meadows from the 20th street parking lot by walking west through the community gardens and past the clubhouse.
